Energy Consulting

The past two years have seen dramatic increases in the price of energy in the UK and across the world. Although the current stage of the economic cycle has dampened demand and caused the price of road fuels to dip, it is clear that in the long term, energy prices will continue to soar. This is because of the fundamentals of supply and demand and the reality that production of conventional crude oil is set to peak within the next 5 years, meaning that road fuel will increasingly come from more exotic, and therefore expensive, oil sources.

Western companies have operated on the assumption of cheap energy. There is a proven and direct link between energy consumption and economic growth. But how will your company survive now that low cost energy is consigned to history ? How will soaring road fuel prices translate into inflationary pay demands from staff ? How will electricity costs affect your IT service provision ?

Adaugis can help by reviewing your current IT business model, policies and technologies to identify ways in which you can reduce your energy consumption and thus the vulnerability of your bottom line to sudden price increases such as those seen during 2007/08. Call us now to find out about our energy vulnerability tool and how it can help you.

James Young, Director and Consultant, is a published contributor to the Association for the Study of Peak Oil, a body set up to advise governments on strategies to mitigate hydrocarbon depletion. He has conducted a research project assessing the vulnerability of UK companies to energy supply challenges and is currently conducting research in association with the Oil Depletion Impact Group at the University of Liverpool into the resilience of the rural economy to oil price increases.
